Kids & Grownups Creature Cups - June 21

Course Description

**Please note each spot is per one participant so please book a spot for each adult and each child separately** Looking to spend some time together while trying something new? Come learn some Pottery and create a couple cool creature cups together at Still life!  In this workshop kids and their grown ups will learn the basics of ceramic handbuilding while creating their very own functional creature cups! The workshop is 2.5hrs long but if your younger half gets tired you can always stop earlier and skip the finishing details. You can definitely create very cool creatures within an hour or so :) The awesome artist and Pottery teacher, Jess Stocker, will guide the class through a creature cup-making demonstration and provide hands-on support as you work on your pieces. This creature cup workshop is designed for kids and their grown ups of any level, no prior pottery experience needed! Recommended ages are 7–12, though older kids are welcome as well. This is a one-time class so glazing will not be covered. However, you will have the opportunity to paint designs on your creature cups with a selection of colored underglazes. We will then slow dry, clear glaze, and fire your work in our kiln and have it ready for you to come pick up! All materials are included along with the glazing and firing of one creature cup per participant. As a beginner class, the experience will be focused on learning some basic handbuilding techniques. Not every ceramic work comes out of the kiln exactly how we imagine. However, the process and the imperfections are what make your work unique. Once your cups are finished, you'll be invited back to enjoy a yummy beverage of your choice together in your one-of-a-kind handcrafted creature cups <3
