Course Description

Clay and Coffee are two of our most favorite things here at Still life! In this 2.5-hour workshop, you’ll learn the basics of ceramic handbuilding while creating your very own new favorite mug! Our amazing teacher and ceramic artist, Anjuli Wright, will guide the class through a mug-making demonstration and provide hands-on support as you work on your piece. This mug workshop is for adults of any level, no prior pottery is experience needed!  This is a one time class so glazing will not be covered. However, you will have the opportunity to paint designs on your mug with a selection of colored underglazes. We will then slow dry, clear glaze, and fire your work in our kiln and have it ready for you to come pick up! All materials are included along with the glazing and firing of one piece per student. As a beginner class, the experience will be focused on learning some basic hand building techniques. Not every ceramic work comes out of the kiln exactly how we imagine. However, the process and the imperfections are what make your work unique. We can pretty much guarantee your next warm beverage will taste better than ever in your one-of-one handcrafted mug <3
