My best friend taught me to enjoy the simple pleasure of walking about the Sunday Farmer’s Market here in Ballard.  This past Sunday she was busy and I went by myself.

I began with a slice of pizza right outta the wood fired oven.

And finished with a lemon & sugar crepe made just for me.

Enjoyed a self-silence save for discussion with the stall vendors.

Listened to music and absorbed the sunshine, aromas and sounds.

rich firm beef steak tomatoes

earthy chanterelle mushrooms

peppers, beans and a few potatoes

meaty lobster mushrooms

fragrant fall flowers

an abundance of squash

But her hand wasn’t in mine.
