Isaac Hayes - SHAFT soundtrack

Among the many web logs my Google Reader organizes for me each day is a goofy service called “dealnews.”  It ’s a web site that is dedicated to harvesting the various retailer offerings on the web and generates emails when a particular deal looks good. For all I know, the companies submit these to the service and it gets a cut on the money.  Whatever.

Periodically Amazon.com will offer either Free or low price downloads of music in the MP3 format.  I’ve benefited from this largess on multiple occasions and my iTunes library features a wide range of music, much of it free. And while free is usually a done deal (why not?) I am always severely tempted by the $1.99 full album downloads.  For instance my play list now includes 99 Beethoven symphonies,  Jackson Browne,  The Beach Boys, Billy Ecstine, Charles Mingus, Diana Krall, Earl Clugh, Joan Jett & The Blackhearts, Tony Bennet, U2, Ella Fitzgerald and Tori Amos, just to name a few – all purchased by me in just ‘One-Click’ for $1.99.

I haven’t even taken time to listen to them all, and my iPod Shuffle (the original model – I won it at a Safeway grocery store grand re-opening) certainly can’t hold them all. But dammit, a-deal-is-a-deal!

Well sir, today the ‘dealnews’ came through with an irresistible offer.  Issac Hayes original soundtrack album in MP3 format for the low low price of $1.99.
