According to the Untied States Central Intelligence Agency (uh huh, you read that right – the CIA) published report of per capita income, the top spot belongs to Liechtenstein ($118,000) and the lowest to Zimbabwe ($200.)

For those of you who are curious, the top ten looks like this:

1
Liechtenstein $ 118,000 2007 est.
2
Qatar $ 103,500 2008 est.
3
Luxembourg $ 81,100 2008 est.
4
Bermuda $ 69,900 2004 est.
5
Kuwait $ 57,400 2008 est.
6
Jersey $ 57,000 2005 est.
7
Norway $ 55,200 2008 est.
8
Brunei $ 53,100 2008 est.
9
Singapore $ 52,000 2008 est.
10
United States $ 47,000 2008 est.

And the bottom 10 looks like this:

221
Central African Republic $ 700 2008 est.
222
Niger $ 700 2008 est.
223
Sierra Leone $ 700 2008 est.
224
Eritrea $ 700 2008 est.
225
Guinea-Bissau $ 600 2008 est.
226
Somalia $ 600 2008 est.
227
Liberia $ 500 2008 est.
228
Burundi $ 400 2008 est.
229
Congo, Democratic Republic of the $ 300 2008 est.
230
Zimbabwe $ 200 2008 est.

Just conjecture on my part, but my guess is the woman in this story about getting the wrong $700 Louis Vuitton bag doesn’t live in Zimbabwe. ~blm
