Peeling 'shimp' for my best friend.

On a recent week-long trip to Oahu we paid several visits to the North Shore, or “the country” as locals call it, to catch site of surfers on the big waves and to enjoy one of our favorite meals – local freshwater shrimp!

We love Romy’s and go there whenever we are on Oahu. I’ve been eating at the little road-side stand for more than 20 years.  On the second of our most recent visits we stood in line for more than an hour to order our favorite dish:  Fresh Kahuku shrimp flash seared in a hot hot HOT wok and sauced with garlic, butter and sweet pepper sauce. ~blm
